Astronaut training

We have had to show some of our skills during astronaut training this week, to make sure we are fit enough to fly. We will be floating around a lot in space, but have all passed that part of our training with flying colours!

We had to make sure all the count down checks were in place ...

Before watching the live lift-off! Good luck Tim Peake! We gave a massive cheer - you probably heard us from space!

You can watch the launch from lots of different angles!

Our Nativity scene change diversion!

Here it is again for those of you who would like to see it. Please excuse the alternative music - the original soundtrack was noises from the Blackburn kitchen whilst a roast tea was being cooked (and my son Ben chuckling as he was helping me move the characters ...)

Enjoy! Nativity photographs are coming very soon.

A special visitor from another time

What a special visitor Rowan Class 2 had today! Come back tomorrow to see how they felt about it. Their comments will appear below.

Fraction lightbulbs!

Dora could explain today why both quarters of bread were the same, even though they looked different. She said her lightbulb had gone 'ding' again!

Lewie persevered and found a way of dividing a triangle into quarters. Wow Lewie - you did some really big thinking!  Lewie explained how he did it to other children in the class who hadn't quite got there yet.

There go Miss BB's socks again!!

History investigators!

Today we received a letter and a very old box!

The letter was from the archaeology team at St Paul's Cathedral! It was asking for our help to discover facts about the old box. We were intrigued, but some of us thought we should not open the box as we did not know what was inside.

We made a decision alley to show who thought we should or shouldn't open the box.

Lots of us gave great reasons why we should or shouldn't open it...

but the majority decision was to open the box and find out what was inside.
