Soldiers were not getting better because the hygiene was so poor in the hospital.
Many soldiers had lost their limbs in the battles.
The smell in the hospital was terrible.
The nurses were shocked at the poor conditions and set to work restoring order and cleanliness.
What super actors and actresses. You make it look nearly as bad as it would have been.....
