Fire engines!

Before the DaRTS team could design their fire trucks,they had to test out some new wheels and axles. 

They are now ready to go for our new fire trucks!

I can see that lots of children are playing on Sumdog today. If you are having difficulty logging on, don't forget that your username is all in capitals and the school code is eastharling.

Digital leader applications!

Rowan Class had two options for homework this week and one of them was to tell me why they would make a great mini digital leader. Look at these marvellous letters! Archie has even typed his! The effort that has been put in has made me feel all warm and fuzzy! Super work again my lovelies :-) 

Big maths games!

It is a week of marvellous maths at school and we have been playing some big maths games! 

Marvellous maths!

This afternoon we had 15 minutes of marvellous maths games in the ICT suite. We can play these at home too! 

We practised counting in 2s, 5s and 10s with money. 

Poor old Jacques!

Poor old Jaques! He's come all the way from France to work at DaRTS Parts, but he keeps getting in a muddle! He doesn't recognise all the coins, so he doesn't know whether customers are giving him the right money or not. 

The DaRTS team decided to help by making him some posters to go on the wall, showing the different combinations of coins for the different prices. 

Harriet found that 10p is the same as two x 5p

Ordering numbers

In maths we have been generating our own numbers, then putting them in order. We can do this by looking at how many tens and how many ones there are in each number.

We can order numbers from high to low too! Stanley thought it was great fun on the iPad.

Money games!

There are some new money games on the learning online pages. Why not have a play and find your favourite? We will be looking at them in class next week too.

DaRTS researchers

After checking the lockers on the fire engine, the DaRTS team checked out some of the safety equipment, like the helmets and breathing apparatus. Next they looked at the ladders, water tank, cab size and hose. They have a pretty good idea what they need for their smaller fire engines! 

After checking out the ladders, we researched some of the equipment in the lockers on the other side of the fire engine.
