This afternoon we have been looking carefully at things so that we can sketch them.

Musical treat!

Yesterday Rowan class had a special treat as they had Oak Class' music session with Mrs Shaw.

Rowan class loved it when we had the music lesson. The best bit was when people had to follow me.

Meet our stick men!

We listened to the story of Stanley's stick today, then went out and about to create our own stick men with our y shaped sticks.
We had to use string to tie on the arms, then we had clay to make the head. Look at our deep concentration! Some of us worked together to tie our arms on as we realised that two pairs of hands are better than one.

Water investigations

We have been asking and answering lots of questions about capacity and volume this afternoon.
We asked things like, 'Which holds the most water?' And 'How many lots of this container will it take to fill this one?'

We found out which containers held more (had a greater volume) and which had less capacity.

Creating our elephants

We have been very busy following our elephant designs to create our elephants. Look at our concentrating faces!

Milk bottle elephant designs

We have been designing our milk bottle elephants today! Evie (1) thought it was fun and Evie (2) said she was loving it! Come back soon to see how these are transformed into milk bottle sculptures.

Rescuing the Pygmy elephant

The ARC team were very busy yesterday creating pulley systems to rescue the baby Pygmy elephant. They created some really sturdy structures! They worked collaboratively and thought about the materials they had got and how they could use them. Their pulley systems were brilliant and would definitely do the job!
